Forgiven But Not Changed

Scripture teaches us that whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord the same shall be saved. Romans 10:13 We know that we are saved by faith in Jesus Christ and that our sins are forgiven us at that time. However forgiveness of sin is what Jesus does by His blood for us through faith. Now we must forgive others with the same forgiveness and compassion that the Lord has had on us.

"Now we must forgive others with the same forgiveness and compassion that the Lord has had on us."

Jesus spoke a parable about a servant that owned a great debt insomuch that he could not pay the debt at the time it was due. He begged his lord to have patience with him and that he would pay the debt and his lord was moved with compassion and loosed him and forgave his debt that he owed. His lord did not even expect him to pay it back. Now that is true forgiveness! However this same servant went out and about strangled a man that owned him some money. The man fell down and begged him to have patience with him and that he would pay him all that he owned. However the lender did not have the same compassion on his fellow-servant. His lord found out about how he treated this man and was angry with him and delivered him over to the tormentors. The tormentors were those that inflicted punishment upon the guilty. Jesus said, this is how the Father will do with us if we do not forgive every man his brother. The tormentors are demons that God will allow to torment us until we forgive everyone from our heart. From the heart is the key.  We see that the servant that was forgiven his debt, was forgive but he was not changed! Matt 18:23-35

"We see that the servant that was forgiven his debt was forgive but he was not changed!"

His heart never changed. He was forgiven but he was not thankful! If we are changed by God's love and compassion this will be evident in how we treat others. Jesus told us Blessed are the merciful for they shall obtain mercy. Matt 5:7 I believe their are many of God's people today that have been forgiven by the Lord and they are saved, they have been born again by the Spirit however they still have not been changed by God's love and grace. They continue to harbor un-forgiveness and bitterness in their hearts and think they won't have to admit it. Well God has some tormentors just for you that will cause you to come clean. Remember these tormentors are sent by God and allowed to torment you until you have admitted your fault and come clean. God does not want to hear your side of it. He does not take sides. He only commands you to forgive and you will be forgiven. You see if you don't forgive from your heart everyone that has ever hurt you then God the Father will not forgive you! This aught to awaken you friend. Matt 6:15
